Lakshmi Kandel is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with extensive experience across hospital, residential, and private practice settings. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Bucknell University and went on to receive her Master’s in Clinical Social Work from Columbia University. With over 15 years of experience, Lakshmi has worked in both direct care and administrative roles following the completion of her education and clinical training. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a deep commitment to treating the “whole person” and strengthening family systems through a direct, compassionate, and collaborative approach to care.

Lakshmi is trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She has also worked extensively with adolescents and adults on the autism spectrum in residential settings, including Edwin Gould and St. Christopher’s Inc. in New York. She later welcomed the opportunity to work within a local group practice in Westport, Connecticut, where she further refined her clinical skills in individual, family, and group therapy.

In her role as Clinical Director, she is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of care and supporting clients as they navigate the challenges of everyday life in an ever-changing world. As a parent of two, Lakshmi brings both professional expertise and lived experience to her work, grounding her clinical leadership in empathy, balance, and thoughtful care.
